Portuguese Delicious–Squee-worthy! Now Updated with Bookmark

Squee.  This is such a gorgeous cover.  Please click on the image to see all the details.   Full of food, yum, yum, yum.  Spices at the top:  dried red chilies, star anise, vanilla beans, and I think those are nutmegs.  And on the bottom, piles of chocolate and berries.  Ahhh.  Nom nom nom.

I love the warm palette.  I love the scale.  I love the title–which I think means Forbidden Fruit.  I love everything about it.  The only possible detail that can better this cover would be if there were a few madeleines sitting on that scale!

The best cover of my career.

Update:

And Quinta Essência, my Portuguese publisher, made these matching magnetic bookmarks to go with it.  Now suddenly I can’t wait to visit Portugal.  🙂  The book comes out April 28th.

    • Hello, darling. My Portuguese editor said it is a handwritten recipe. Although I would love to know exactly what it is–I have trouble reading these kinds of old-timey handwriting–I didn’t think I should grill her so much when we barely know each other. 🙂

      • I wouldn’t want you to grill her either. I was just curious and how fitting that it is a recipe! It really is an elegant cover for a sophisticated book.

  1. Gorgeous cover! I loooove it when they make it so that it fits the story!

I think the writing in the background is a recipe. I noticed the word “cup” and “75” degrees…

    • I know. So rare that the cover actually convey the content of the book, as far as romances are concerned. Most covers signal genre.

And yes, it is a recipe indeed.

  2. hi!
i’m from portugal, and i already bought your book and read it!
    it’s just awesome! congrats!
I hope that the other books get published in portugal as soon as possible!

    • Hi Jiguita,

I’m so happy to hear from you. So glad you enjoyed the book.

If there are lots of other Portuguese fans, then the publisher might acquire rights to my other books. So, fingers crossed!

      And thank you!

  3. Hello I’m Portuguese and I’m now reading your book, I’m amazed, congratulations I’m excited to read more of your books.

    • Hi S.,

So glad to hear from you. I’m glad you enjoy O Fruto Proibido and thank you for letting me know. Quita Essencia will be publishing my book Private Arrangements (not sure about the Portuguese name yet) sometime this year or next.

      Cheers

      Sherry
