Excerpt and Covers

This is a content-free blog, more or less.  Just to let you know that I have uploaded a two-chapter excerpt of THE BURNING SKY to my website.  Click here to read.

And the busier I am, the cleaner I like to keep my virtual desktop.  Here’s a load of foreign covers so I can move these pics into their appropriate folders, off the desktop.  🙂

First, one of Meredith’s that I’d come across.

Complex Chinese BOUND BY YOUR TOUCH

The audio book cover for BEGUILING THE BEAUTY, not a foreign cover, per se.

Now a quartet of my actual foreign covers.

Russian HIS AT NIGHT.
Vietnamese HIS AT NIGHT.
Complex Chinese BEGUILING THE BEAUTY
French BEGUILING THE BEAUTY

Hope you like the excerpt.

  1. Thanks for the excerpt, Sherry. I don’t read a lot of YA, but now that you’re writing in the genre, I’ll have to give it a try. I was going to pickup The Hunger Games until someone told me how the series ends. It sounded disappointing and depressing. LOL

Best of luck with this new series. Are you excited or a little nervous about the upcoming release?

    • I am also one of those fans who are totally unsatisfied with the ending of the third book of the Hunger Games trilogy. I hope they have the audacity to do something different in the movie version.

Typically I don’t think very far out–the release is still 8 months away. I’m much more likely to be concerned about things that need doing right now, which is one manuscript due March 15 and another right on its heels on May 1.

As for the YA release, I’ve done the best I can in terms of writing the book. And I’ll do as much as I can to promote it. Beyond that, it’s out of my control.

But I am excited for people to read it. I like it a lot, this YA fantasy. It is right up there with Not Quite a Husband as one of my favorite things that I’ve ever written. Betrayal+romantic angst+possibility of death=>Sherry’s eternal devotion. 🙂

  2. Love the Chinese cover. Somehow, covers that just have the hero or heroine are more appealing to me. The couple poses usually look so awkward.

    • I love the Chinese cover too. I was looking at pictures of Aishwarya Rai when I described Venetia from Beguiling the Beauty. And the Chinese cover model actually bear some resemblance to her.
